How to size an LED video wall for your space

A simple way to work out width, height and cabinet count before you ask for a quote.

Getting the size right is the first step to a good quote. You need three numbers: the space available, the viewing distance, and the content shape.

1. Measure the space

Note the width and height of the wall in feet or metres. Leave room around the screen for the frame and for service access if the screen is wall-mounted.

2. Think about the content

Most video is 16:9. If you will mostly show video, choose a size close to that ratio so the picture fills the screen. For adverts, posters or vertical content, a taller or wider shape may suit better.

3. Build from cabinets

LED walls are assembled from cabinets, commonly 640 x 640 mm, 500 x 500 mm or 500 x 1000 mm. The final size is a whole number of cabinets, so the built size is close to, not exactly, the size you ask for.

4. Use the configurator

Enter your width, height and product in our configurator to see the nearest cabinet layout, resolution, viewing distance and an estimated price. You can print it or add it to your quote.
